Seagate is world renowned for their hard drives, and it has been that way for well over thirty years. In addition to their hard drives, they make a variety of devices that can put their drives to good use; including network attached storage servers, external drives, and portable drives. It is important to distinguish between portable and external drives, as all external drives may not be quite so portable. The subject of this review may be a perfect example of such a product.
The 8TB Backup Plus Hub is shown in the promotional image above, and is the external drive we will be checking out in this review. It is a USB 3.0 connected drive that measures roughly eight inches deep by five inches tall and just under two inches thick. While you could pack it up for portable use, given its size and its need for an external power adapter, it is much better suited to sitting on your desk in order to provide you with ample space to archive not only your computer's files, but also files from your mobile devices and social media accounts.

The Seagate Dashboard software is listed as being included, but don't look for a CD for the installation, all the files you need are already on the Backup Plus Hub, and once connected you can simply launch the executable to install it on to your system.
