The ASUS EEE 701SD comes packaged in a heavy duty cardboard box that would look right at home sitting on your local electronics store shelves. The front of the box provides just a glimpse of the netbook, while the back provides very little information, but it does so in several languages. There is no place on the box that provides you detailed specifications.



Opening the box, I was greeted by the quick start guide. The quick start guide provides a good amount of detailed information on setting up the netbook.



Below the quick start guide, the netbook was nestled in a form fitting cardboard section; wrapped in a plastic bag. This packaging was more than sufficient to ensure the netbook remained undamaged in shipping.



In a section of the box below the netbook were the accessories. Included are the AC power charger, battery, user manuals (which are particularly useful for learning how to do a factory restore with the online backup), and restore CDs. Asus also includes a neoprene sleeve for the netbook. While this does not provide much protection, it does give the user somewhere to store their netbook.
