Tagan TG1300-U33 In The Zone Series 1300W Power Supply
October 29, 2007

A few years ago I wouldn't have guessed that we would be looking at 1300W power supplies anytime soon, since the average computer uses far less than 1000W. While that might be the case for the average computer, some individuals are really pushing the envelope and need some serious power. In addition, others may be building a system today and looking to future proof their system for use with the next generation of components, such as quad core processors and video cards.

Tagan may not be the type of company where a large number of people rush out to check out their latest power supplies. Many enthusiasts will first look at the 'big name' power supply manufacturers like Enermax, OCZ, PC Power & Cooling, and Thermaltake. Tagan is a younger company, and is not as well known, but their popularity is growing due to their wide range of high quality computer components.

The latest power supply offerings from Tagan are a part of their ITZ (In The Zone) series, and they all include similar specifications and a certification from the "ABS Gaming Labs", which appears to be a division of Newegg.com. The ITZ power supplies are available in 700W, 800W, 900W, 1100W, and 1300W models, with each unit offering a different combination of connectors. Tagan has sent over the largest of these power supplies for us to evaluate, the TG1300-U33 In The Zone Series 1300W power supply.
