The Basics (continued):

The side panel has a raised vent area that I am sure is meant to resemble a hood scoop on a car. The "scoop" looks nice and is functional but in my opinion misses the Ferrari look and feel with its odd shape. It does serve a practical function though, and has an adjustable piece of duct work to funnel cool air to the CPU heat sink.

The duct is adjustable forward and backward, and also extends in and out to match your set up. As you can see in the above right image, the scoop also conceals a lower vent from view on the outside of the case.

From the rear the F430 shows a pretty standard layout with a 120mm exhaust fan, the only fan included with the case.

Moving inside the case, we have four 5.25" drive bays, two 3.5" floppy bays, and a 3.5" removable hard drive cage in the front of the F430 (below left image). A view of the inside back (below right image) shows the power supply bay, I/O panel opening, the lone 120mm fan, and the expansion card slots. Notice the covers for the expansion cards are not installed but come in a plastic bag for you to install later.

The front bezel comes off easily with two latches on either side. Under the bezel there is a vent cut into the chassis but no provision for installing an intake fan. There is also a small circuit board and a rather large speaker. The circuit board and speaker provide the final touch to the Ferrari theme. When you start the computer up instead of getting a post beep you are greeted by a sound that is supposed to be like a Ferrari engine roaring to life, revving up, and then taking off down the highway fading into the distance. Some may consider this a little cheesy, but I thought it was kind of cool. Definitely more of a novelty, my kids think it is the coolest thing they have ever seen / heard.
