Enermax Chakra ATX Case with 25cm Fan
July 27, 2006

Conclusion:

The Enermax Chakra is an excellent case for anyone not heavy into modding their system with lots of lights, fans, or a big side window.

The Chakra is very quiet in its operation, despite having the biggest fan I have ever seen on a computer case. The fan is so quiet it is only audible if you put your ear next to it while in motion. Even with the case loaded up with the 25cm fan and two of Enermax's new 120mm Enlobal fans, it is extremely quiet while keeping all system components nice and cool.

The only negative I have to list is that the case only comes with the single 25cm fan. There are locations for 120mm fans in the front and the rear, but both were empty on this model. If you are going to buy some new 120mm fans for this case, keep the new Enermax Enlobal fans in mind to maintain the whisper quiet performance.

A search of Pricegrabber does not bring up any results for the Enermax Chakra case, but I did find it on Newegg.com for $69.99 before tax/shipping. This is definitely a good value for a quality case with interesting features and aesthetics.

Given the overall performance, value, and quiet operation, I award the Enermax Chakra ATX Case with 25cm Fan the awards of "Highly Recommended" and "Whisper Quiet".

Pros:

» Huge 250mm fan
» Flip cover CD/DVD ROM bays
» Ventilation
» eSATA connection on front panel
» Good value
» Easily accessed I/O panel

Cons:

» No 120mm fans included
