CoolerMaster HAF-932 Case or Intel Q9550 CPU

Hi guys,

For a long time, I'm thinking about upgrading my current Thermaltake Soprano Case with a new one and I'm quite 'locked' on the CoolerMaster HAF-932.

Now, I can get the HAF-932 here in Israel for around $165.

So far, I've managed to save around $150, so soon enough I think I'll be able to buy it.

But...Just today I had a new idea.

I thought about selling my current Q6600 CPU and upgrade it to a new Q9550 CPU.

I can sell my Q6600 for around $125 and by adding extra $160, I can buy a new Q9550 for $285.

So basically, I can spend ~$160 on either a new case or a new CPU.

Now, I want the HAF-932 for a long time, but it's also very tempting to have a new CPU that can be (quite easily) overclocked to 3.8GHz (even 4GB maybe??? Grin

).

So my BIG QUESTION is, what do you think I should do, go with the HAF-932 case or with the Q9550 CPU? Rolling Eyes

Unfortunately, I just can't afford them both Sad

...So in case I'll go with the HAF-932, I think my next CPU upgrade will be only in ~2yrs from now to an i7 platform... Rolling Eyes

Will I have any major performance boost by moving from a Q6600 to a Q9550, or maybe the extra bucks just doesn't worth it???

in my opinion an up grade in the CPU would be nice...but maybe save your money an do an up grade to i-5 core when it comes out...sell old and get new...my 2 cents....

You won't be disappointed with the case. Love my CM Storm Sniper and it shares a lot of similarities with the HAF series. The SSD is also a good alternative, although a little too pricey for me personally.

Personally id get the HAF 932 and save to do a more complete upgrade later on to either i5 or i7. SSD's i definatly wouldnt get as i think they are likely to have a price plummet over the next few months as they have more han halfed in price from what i can tell since start of the year.
The case is also an amazing case, only problem i have with it is that its got no dust filters and after using it for just two weeks you can see the dust start to build up aroud the fan grills, doesnt seem too much of a problem inside atm but ive got so many fans going its kinda hard to tell lol Smile

No ideas for dust filters really sorry, over the bottom of the case(for a 120mm intake and psu fan ive strectched tights over and taped it in place and thats stopping stuff on the bottom whilst keeping a reasonable air flow. Contemplating doing that for the front fan aswell as it wont look too messy but aside from doing the same but on the inside of the side panel i dont have any ideas yet lol, if you find anything useful let me know lol Smile

And as for ssd's for os's im kinda hoping to be able to get sommat like a 128gb one next year at a reasonable price, dont think it will be too long till they are aropund the same price as normal drives. Id thought they will end up alot cheaper than raptors aswell considering the jumps companies are making with flash memory.
