I'm probably going to wait until after the first price drop before I play around with i7. I've got to get rid of a couple of my other systems first though (e6400 and a first gen Q6600). I may hold of even longer and take advantage of pricing on the q9400's instead. _________________

I'd wait, too. $650 seems like alot to me for CPU, memory, and motherboard, but when we're talking about i7 that gets you in at the absolute cheapest.
Stuff I have seen on Newegg and Tiger Direct...
Cheapest motherboard - $220
Cheapest processor - $310
Cheapest triple channel 3GB 1333MHz memory - $130
Total is $660! |

We were thinking about the i7 for our new desktops at work but we're *settling* with quad-cores since the precision line at dell doesn't have an i7-based build yet _________________ ABAP? What did you call me? |
