Wonder how it would feel like if you were on that plane and you were afraid of flying, also that is one hell of a skilled pilot.

saw that on the tv news, they said the wingtip did actual make runway contact (which usually ends very badly) but they landed fine on the second try. That's about as close as you can get and still walk away.

That was on the news yesterday here, too. Looks like fun. But he didn't forward-slip that thing when he flared...tisk tisk...

But yeah once the wind gets under your wing like that, it's usually too late to recover, especially in a large aircraft like that. Got to love the TOGA (Take-Off/Go-Around) buttons for 100% turbine speed...which we had to use once in a Saab city-hopper when I was right-seating to get my "turbine training and pressurized-cabin signoff" when we got 10 feet off the ground and a strong microburst hit us Smile.
