it has 4gb of ram to run ultimate...besides servers and high end design systems, nobody uses that much ram. That should be enough to cover up the fact that vista is a resource hog. |

So, I am playing Vanguard as well... I have 2 gigs and a reasonably new system. I am not made of money, so upgrading my 7800GT that I bought right before the 7900's came out is pretty much out of the question. I could see buying another and running SLI, but they are hard to find at this point.
Will 2 gigs more of RAM help me run Vanguard a bit better? I play DDO also, and played SWG for years and never had a game run like this.
Also, I am currently running XP Pro, and Im wondering (I am not a professional techie) if Vista Ultimate is worth getting. Isn't XP only capable of handling 2 gigs anyways? So if I upgrade the RAM won't I need to upgrade the OS as well?
I have read about the added security, and in this day and age I am all about maximising security. If the average hardcore gamer/pc user will see real benefits from Ultimate then Ill spring for it, but if not Ill wait a couple more months and just get home premium. Any advice/help on anything I've posted will be appreciated. |
