unknown year now - 1975-78 VW Scirocco put plates and insurance on it for maybe 4 days total . drove it to work the first time and on the way there i had to pull over and toss the rear seat out of it .some how a wire burned the seat up . made it to work do .about 20 miles each way . the 2nd day i get like 1/4 of the way 5 miles and the CV joint broke .have the car towed home . pay the bill then called up a week or two later and have the junk yard haul it away . made enough to pay the tow bill .but lost 4-5 hundred i payed for this peice of junk and it even came with a spair motor !

then went out and bought a brand new car -that lasted me and the wife 8 years or more !

I can't really say... I had cars that weren't great, but then again they were old before I got them and I didn't expect much from them.

I recently learned that the least favorite of my cars among everyone else I know was my Jeep Cherokee... I just sold it and everyone started telling me how happy/relieved/grateful they were. Apparently no one liked it, thought I was going to die in it, and were even afraid of it. Laughing - Was in great shape, and had minimal problems for an 8 year old car with 116k miles on it, so it was a surprise to me... Grin

Here it is right before I got rid of it... Still looks good to me:

1995 Ford Taurus. I didn't actually own it, but I had to drive to school in it each day. And it broke down on me a few times during the 3 mile trip to school - once the transmission was going (still made it, but barely); another time I had to brake hard to not hit a deer. I didn't hit the deer, but once I let go of the brakes, I had to push the pedal to the floor and that would still barely stop it.

Since the years of high school (funny....seems like last year!), I bought myself my own new car. 2000 Mercury Grand Marque. It may be an old persons car, but the 4.6L V-8 and awesome stereo system make up for it...plus it's comfortable Smile

During tech school (1988-1990) I owned a 1970 toyota Hilux pickup that was not quite a whole vehicle. It did not have an accelerator pedal or any one single straight body panel. I had to drive it with a string I had sticking out of the dash tied to the carburetor. The clutch never disengaged but that didnt matter, you didnt need it to shift.

I paid $200.00 for the toyota.

Later on I bought a $300 1983 Mustang (the first of the fox body 5.0's) it was a Notch back and if you opened the passenger door it would fall off the car. It had one good brake in the front. Fast as hell though.

Probably my most hated car came after the Mustang. I must have had a metrosexual moment and bought a 1988 Pontiac Fiero. Talk about ghey!!! It did get good gas mileage and cornered like a go-cart but I still couldnt get over driving a chick car.

My worst: a tie between my 84 Camaro, 85 Corvette, and my 90 Buick Lesabre.

Nothing but problems with all three. The only reason I bought this 95 GMC truck was price and its great shape. ...otherwise I'd never own another GM product again.

Every Toyota I've owned (2 of them) gave me nothing but problems. Bang Head My parents had great luck with Toyota's... but both of them I owned I kept having to sink money in left and right to fix.

Best is my current truck. 2000 Sierra 1500. Built out of a combo of rock, and titanium.

Probably the car I own now it's a 93 VW golf 4 door, and it wasn't to bad until I well... erm... crashed it. Still drivable with a new fender, hood, grill and head lights, not ot mention correcting the frame where the fender connects with a metal pipe. But hey! it passed inspection.

My first car was a '72 VW Superbeetle that I paid $400 for.
The steering wheel came loose once on my way to work.
Throttle cable fell off another time while going through a tunnel.
I was doing some welding on it and didn't know the main wiring harness passed behind the rear fender well. All the wiring melted together in a sticky blob Confused
Broken fuel line, leaky wheel cylinders, etc, etc.
