I currently have 1GB of memory in it and I was thinkign about gettign more. Where is the cheapest yet good quality place to purchase a 1GB kit?
Also how can I tell if I have two memory slots filled up that make up my 1GB? Meaning I am not sure if I have a 1GB card or if I have two that are half that....???...
Also what else coudl I do to get some more speed out of the laptop?

More than likely you have (2) 512MB sticks in it. You have to buy (2) 1gb sticks. sell off the 512mb sticks if not needed to recover some of the expenses.
If your lappy is slow, I'd look into what is slowing it down. Dell, like most OEM PC builders load the machines full of so much crap that they act like a Pentium 75mhz running full visuals Windows XP Pro and Doom 3.
Kill all the crap that starts up with Windows. ALl those automated updaters, Quicktime, Realplayer, any instant messenger, etc.. Run them manually when needed.

What do you mean by "get more speed out of the laptop". What speed are you expecting? Speed in what? What is too slow?
Those questions can help us figure out what you need. But by just quick looking at the spec's on the E1505... it's pretty impressive for hardware. So again... Knight is probably right.

Knight is definitely right. Format and re-install windows if you can. If you can't there is a program out there that removes all the Dell bloatware. It's called dell decr@pifier for something like that.
I have an e1505 and they are also right about your memory. You likely have 2x512Mb because the e1505 requires 2 memory sticks to run in "dual channel" mode. If you want to go up to 2gb you will need to buy 2 x 1gb memory modules. You can check to make sure just by removing the cover on the bottom of the laptop that's marked C/M. It's right in the middle and has a bunch of vent holes in it.
What video card do you have? There are some overclocking options available for the Radeon x1400, but I'm not sure about the other cards.
Best bang for the buck ............ format and re-install Windows, just be careful not to change the partitions unless you want to get rid of the media direct option. (I personally wiped it of my e1505 because it wasn't any faster/easier than just booting into window)

Well it is not really slow. I am not unhappy with it cause for a laptop it is pretty fast. But I know it can be a bit faster. I knew abotu the dell crap and I went in and deleted a lot of the crap but kept some of it. I also went into msconfig and got rid of all of the stuff that was not nessassary. But there is still a bunch of stuff running on there.
I guess I just figured that gettign some mroe memory might give me a little more speed. Jsut not sure it is worth the money.
JSut wanted to here your ideas and you have helped me out a lot. I ppreciate it.
