The second part is true... We have a humidifier running all the time, and the humidity isn't great, but with all the PCs here, none ever shocks me. Especially not every time I touch it. Laughing

Using an LED from another case makes this work fine... Bang Head

Not sure on the shock issue yet. But, still not comfortable with the whole situation.

What is the typical voltage on a front panel LED? If its 5 or 12V, maybe I'll just try to rig it so that a floppy connector powers the LED.

Another way around this... connecting the HDD LED to the power header, and the power LED to the HDD header makes everything function well. Only thing is that power on is now indicated in bright red, and HDD activity in bright blue.

The shock thing may be unrelated, as this is the heaviest aluminum front bezel I have ever seen, mounted on a steel frame. Most cases here seem to have some plastic, but not here. Some pieces of metal are probably a 1/4" thick or more!

Most common LED's are 2.8-3.3V 12v will make it go poof

The shock and light when off indicates a short between the hot side of the power switch and the bezel, with the off return path through the LED.
you're lucky it didn't do any damage (the QC of cases assembled in third world countries by illiterate children paid a few pennies a day is always questionable)
What is the brand of this fine PoS, as I wish to avoid purchasing one?

I think this is a really good case... just not sure what the deal is with the LEDs. Although, I did take the front bezel apart and see that it is a well (over) engineered setup. Threaded holes in the aluminum plate to accept about a half dozen machine screws that hold a plastic LED bracket and buttons in place. Could be a ground issue in that area, but nothing seems obvioulsy bad.

You'll see what case in a few days... Laughing
