I'm poor & stupid, so I have about an inch & a 1/2 of dust in my tower.

I really can't afford a can of air right now, but my landlord is on medical oxygen for some lung problem.

So, my question is--morals aside--can I unplug him & use some of his medical-grade stuff to clean my tower, or is there a chance of getting moisture in my tower with this stuff? Are there any other potential problems I'm risking?

thanky much

Welcome miketv! I shouldn't laugh, but that was kinda funny. I think you would be better off just using a vacuum cleaner and maybe a slighty damp cloth to do some cleaning.

The medical air is probably humidified intentionally, as dry lungs can create even bigger medical problems than he might already have.

If you don't have access to a vacuum with a small(er) brush attachment, I'd suggect looking under your landlords couch cushions for change to go get a can of Dust-Off or whatever!!!

be careful with that damp cloth. Don't clean the PC with the power on and then give it ample time to dry since not all the moisture can be abated by wiping.

Laughing Gawd the visual is priceless!

I have been known to take my shop vac on a PC that the dust bunnies have taken over. Works well, and I've never had a problem with it.

But if you do the other... GET VIDEO! Laughing Yikes

What about static caused by the motor on your normal/household vac? Can't you lose components?

Personally, I would use the rag approach. No static... I've also used a paint brush (sans paint, mind you) to brush off the dust while outside. it works better than a rag anyday.

Just my thoughts.

I just remove on of my 120's, and switch on to remove dust (after shutting eyes, of course!)
