Is it with all video file types? MPG, Divx, XVid, MP4, etc?

There are some popular codecs out there that can cause issues with what you are describing under XP64. Especially if you have Media Player 10 installed. Just thought about that this morning.

It's with MPG or MP4, not sure but one of those, and DVD, but I don't know about the rest. What is a codec, and how can I fix it?
thanks.

MPG works fine for me under Xp64, but the others have issues. Can play one normally, then the next one stutters, bad color, all kinds of issues.

A codec is basically a fancy name for a driver. Instead of a driver that controls a piece of hardware, a codec allows you to run a piece of audio or video software.

If it's a codec you'd have to know exactly which one it is, and do a full clean of it, including editing registry, files, etc. it can be a royal pain in the butt if you don't know where they are all at.

Solution: I uninstalled v77.72 nVidia display driver and installed the previous version for 64bit, 71.84. Now everything is fine.
