I am looking at getting a new 24" LCD as I foolishly didnt look into/read reviews or ask around before buy this one (Viewsonic VX2433wm) and it totally sucks a$$. So I need some help in finding a good one. Please don't just send me links to newegg and other US sites as I'm in NZ and unfortunately are unable to use them. Two of the ones I was looking at was :

http://dragonpc.co.nz/p.aspx?211018

http://dragonpc.co.nz/p.aspx?214427

I do game on it so high specs are important and also I do and will be using an HDMI cable.

What don't you like about your Viewsonic? Usually they make pretty decent monitors

These are both great monitors: ASUS VW246H or ASUS VH242H

I have the ASUS VK266H 25.5" version (very similar) and love it Smile

I second this fellow. I have been doing some on and off research for my own new monitor and so far I haven't run into many issuse of dissatisfaction from ASUS owners.

From your description of that Viewsonic panel, I have a hunch you would not be satisfied with another TN panel.

If you can afford to pay some more NZ dollars look into IPS panels for much improved colors, black levels, and viewing angles. You may take a hit on response times, however.

This thread is kind of old (started back in Nov 2010) but I'm also in the market for a 22"-24" LCD and some input would be great. I'm looking to spend under $200US if at all possible. I currently have a Viewsonic 20" (one of the very rare ones with 1680x1050) and it's slowly starting to go bad. I also recently upgraded to a GTX570 video card so I'd like to be gaming at 1920x1080.

Yeah - built in speakers usually do not sound that great, and I don't care one way or the other about speakers being built in, it doesn't make any difference in my decision to buy a particular make or model.... choosing a monitor can be tricky 'cuz you don't really know how good the picture is until you plug it in at home....

In an office its nice to get a monitor with built in speakers, because your probably not going to get speakers otherwise.
