My host "suspended" the site for what seemed like an eternity over the last two days, for what they claimed was a script utilizing too many server resources. When they finally leveled with and told me the actual script that did this, I nearly laughed out loud...

I have an application that only does one thing... count the impressions of the Logic Supply and XP Cases ads on the main pages. Somehow this simple script that has been installed since June got out of control and was on the verge of crashing the server (dual Xeon 2.8Ghz processors and 4GB memory).

I think I need Fox Mulder to get to the bottom of this one... Sounds suspicious to me. I think Google and my host are in cahoots, actually!! Laughing

Did they make any reasonably attempt to contact you about the problem? or maybe just block the offending script?
Suspending you seems kinda of harsh.

Yeah, their approach was definitely poor. They suspended the account without notice, which included loss of the entire site/forum, ftp access, and e-mail. Simultaneously they e-mailed an alternate e-mail account I gave to tell me. If I hadn't randomly checked that e-mail account, I wouldn't have even known what was going on. Then, even though I responded to their e-mail and tried calling support with 10 minutes of them turning the site out, it took them 9 hours to get back to me again, and a total of about 16 hours to get the site up and running again.
