That's funny, the good to crap ratio is pretty high for new GMs compared with Ford. My aunt's Chevy Venture is the biggest POS I've ever seen, the Aztec, Avalanche, four-inches-between-body-panels Saturns, semi-ugly new trucks, etc don't make them look very good.

Not that I would argue Ford vs Chevy, they both have their good points, I just think new Ford quality is a bit higher than new GM quality (by new I mean anything after say, 1996).

Now, go back a few years to the '80s and I'd take either one when it came to trucks and Broncos/Blazers (although I love Broncos), go back even farther to the '60s and '70s and I would be Chevy all the way.

Despite what I may think about GM's other offerings, let's face it, the Corvette has always been better than the Mustang and 2005 is no exception, the new Mustang is a joke and the new Corvette is faster and sexier than the last.

When it comes to trucks, there's nothing better than a Toyota in the light truck world, and for real trucks (one ton) a nice Dodge turbo diesel dually will best everything else out there.

Anyway, to me Ford vs Chevy is like North vs South Civil War crap, they're the same thing, American. You can argue which is best all day long because they're so similar. Try argueing Ford vs Porsche, Chevy vs Ferrari, any arguements there? I don't think so.

That is like comparing fillet mignon to hamburger. The Mustang was never meant to compete with a Corvette but more so the Camaro. A better comparison today would be the new Vette against the new Ford GT. Even though the GT costs tons more it is a more valid comparison.

I disagree dad. If I may call you that. Remember what happened in the Vette vs. Thunderbird battle? The bird got flipped, yo. It eventually became a weak grandma car, whereas the Vette became stronger. The Mustang later had to compete because Ford offered nothing else, despite the pricetag and performance differences.

Further proof was a commercial I saw with Mr. Ford (the current CEO?) talking about his favorite memories and his Mustang with a "Throaty V8".

However, you are right. Now that the GT is out, I mean Razz

A vette has always been called a "Sports Car" the Mustang when it was released was called a "Pony Car" just like the Camaro was. Mustang just cant compare to a Vette. Ask yourself this...have you ever seen a magazine comparison of the two? I have seen plenty of Mustang vs Camaro or Firebird comparisons but never a Mustang vs Vette.

Given, I've never seen a stock Mustang vs a Vette, but I've seen many Cobra vs Vette articles.

Don't get me wrong. I think the Mustang is a total piece of s#!7 and it was a huge mistake for Ford to have relied on it for so long.

your comparing a Ford GT to a Vette? LOL How can you do that.... its no comparison. Maybe a Mustang Cobra to a Vette but a $150,000 Ford Gt that can compete with Porshe/Lambo/etc.? Please.....

Well at least they are both classified as "Sports Cars" Car and Driver TV just did a comparison of the Vette against a Porche 911 and called the Vette the clear winner. You are right though the GT is a step above the Vette but in my opinion still a better comparison than a Mustang to a Vette.

I agree... After all, no "sports car" should have back seats.
