LOL... No MINES BIGGER.. Laughing

You guys... I like all of the "big three" Currently own a GMC (mine) and a Dodge (Misty's). Both are great, both have their +'s and -'s.

And I like the new `stangs... at least the looks. Like a modern version of the original.

Also no way you can compare a standard `stang agasint a vette, when did the vette EVER come with a 4 banger? Yikes

(17:29:22) shadowsilence00: Uh oh, what happened to the truck?
(17:29:2Cool Who4Dud3: It's bleeding
(17:29:35) shadowsilence00: Tranny fluid?

(17:29:40) Who4Dud3: that f#*@ing $11 seal I got from napa
(17:29:45) Who4Dud3: Tranny comes out
(17:29:56) shadowsilence00: Which seal?
(17:30:14) Who4Dud3: Slickest s#!7 on the planet (lucas synthetic) is all over my new clutch disc, pressure plate, and flywheel
(17:30:17) Who4Dud3: the input shaft seal
(17:30:31) Who4Dud3: it's not leaking at the shaft, it's leaking around the seal because it wasn't quite big enough
(17:30:31) shadowsilence00: Foooooook Sad sorry to hear it man.
(17:30:46) Who4Dud3: it was a loose fit, and I figured it would be fine after it was bolted down
(17:30:4Cool Who4Dud3: not so
(17:31:02) shadowsilence00: Autozone is your friend, napa sucks.
(17:31:15) Who4Dud3: but at least I get to do it on a flat concrete driveway this time, I'm driving it somewhere else
(17:31:23) shadowsilence00: Sad
(17:31:2Cool Who4Dud3: jack stands, a better tranny jack I hope
(17:31:35) Who4Dud3: so it shouldn't be anything like the first time
(17:31:41) shadowsilence00: I hope not.

I think this is the most discouraging thing that's ever happened to me, and it's my fault too...

OH well look on the bright side it will be a lot easier this time. I had an old 55 Chevy Apache truck. First time I pulled the trany and clutch it took me 4 hours. By the time I sold the truck I had it down to about a 30 min job....practice makes perfect Grin

Yeah, it will be easier since everything is clean, I know what to do, and the cross-member bolts aren't all tightened. The main thing is I will NOT be in the dirt on an angle and that's going to make the difference. If all goes well I'm thinking two days, four to five if life happens. :-P

I'm going to try and capture as much of the fluid as I can in a clean water bottle since it's high zoot synthetic stuff that cost me $45 total... Otherwise I'm just looking at jack rental and a new seal.

Tell me you did not drive it with the cross member bolts loose.

Yeah, the tail hit the ground a couple times. Rolling Eyes

The cross-member bolts to the frame, then it has extra brackets that go to the top of the frame, those are loose, the bottom bolts are tight. You could drive it forever like that.

I took it < 1 mile total.
