Week Eleven

This weeks prize sponsored by CoolIT Systems:

Up for grabs this week is a prize pack provided by CoolIT Systems! One winner will receive a USB Beverage Cooler, PCI Cooling Booster, and a RAM Fan.

If we can get 50 participants for this week's game, the winner will also receive a Bigbruin.com T-shirt in the size of their choice.

For years, CoolIT has been working with leaders in the computer industry to research, design, and provide an affordable new cooling product that provides a comprehensive solution for end users while exceeding high OEM standards.

USB Beverage Cooler Info:

» Plugs into your computer’s USB port
» Coldplate chills to 45°F
» Keeps your beverage cold

PCI Cooling Booster:

» Simple bolt-in to any standard 7 slot PCI bay
» Plugs into any available fan header
» Maximize overclocking potential

RAM Fan:

» Simply clips onto all standard DIMMs
» Plugs into any available fan header
» Eliminates any risk of your RAM overheating
» Provides the ultimate in overclockability

Special Thanks to all Sponsors:

Scoring:

» 5 points per game for picking the winner
» 5 extra points (10 total) per game for picking the exact score

The winner of the contest is determined by which ever entrant has the most points at the end of all games this week. If the contest should end in a tie based on points alone, the tie breaker will be determined by which entrant has the lowest point differential. (Point differential is calculated by taking the sum of actual scores as compared to the predicted scores over the course of the week).

Rules:

1. You have until kick off of each game to make your picks, once a game starts you will not be able to change your pick.
2. To play you must be a registered member of the Bigbruin.com forum.
3. One winner will be chosen based on the final score of the contest.
4. At the end of the contest, the winner must provide their shipping address, and the prize will ship out right away.
5. This contest is open to North American participants only, and shipping is included.
6. Rules subject to change.

Tips:

1. Your picks aren't set in stone until game time. You can edit your predictions for any particular game as often as you want right up to kick off.
2. Once a game starts the software does not let you see your predictions. Your best bet for remembering your picks is to take a screenshot of the predictions page or to write them down.
3. Scores will be updated when available and are listed at the bottom of the game's page.
4. Monday Night Football is included, but the upcoming week's games will generally be listed beforehand. While the game and predicition pages may show an overlap during this period, the scores and standings will not get mixed up.

Please post any comments or questions in this thread!

The PCI cooling booster is a great product with two flaws. Luckily there are quick fixes for both problems.

1. They use sticky tape to secure the fan to the metal cage. Sometimes the product arrives with the sticky tape already failed and the fan rattling around inside the plastic packaging. You can fix this by drilling 2 holes through the metal and securing the fan forever with 2 screws.

2. The cooling unit is secured to the top of the pci slots using 2 screws that have tapped holes in them. Some cases like Lian Li, use a different size thread than the screws supplied by coolit. Easy solution is to use 2 of those motherboard hex standoffs in place of the hardware from coolit. Then use your normal pci slot quick screws from lian li.

Despite these 2 flaws the pci cooling fan really will drop your pci slot temperatures over 14 degrees in the following situations. Your graphics card is single slot, (8800 gt style, not gts or gtx), and there is another pci card near it (like a sound card). The fan blows cool air straight down between the cards and removes hot air pockets.

In an attempt to get more people playing, please check out the new addition to the contest information...

We now log IP addresses at registration, with each post, every poll vote, etc. to check for cheats, but hopefully we can get at least 50 individuals to play!

Look for more incentivized weeks of Pro Football Pick 'Em coming soon... With much bigger prizes if more people play! Grin
