I'm looking for a new graphic card for an AGP 4X mobo (With an Athlon XP 2000 Palomino on it).

I guess an X1600Pro isn't worth it considering the 4X bandwidth, so is there any suggestion for an AGP card?

I didn't follow the video card market at that time (Was happy with my Ti4200) but should I look for one of these? 9600XT / 9800XT / GF6600Pro

Personal choice I guess but I prefer ATI cards. My 9800 Pro died but was still under warranty but Newegg had none and cant get any since they dont make it anymore. So they replaced it with an X1600 Pro which has 512 meg on it. This thing performs great for a $140 video card. I would look for something in the ATI "X" series of cards and see what fits your needs.

Well, I searched more and the X1600Pro seems to be the best bang for the buck.

All the faster cards are more expensive(Even some older Radeon 9000-series that are faster, but have worse graphics), plus this one supports OGL2 , DX9c, pixel shader 3, hardware video acceleration and 512MB of RAM (As much as my whole system in fact...) Seems like AGP 4X and 8X don't have a big difference between both also.

When I compare this : 170$ Jupiter Digital (?) 6600 256MB vs. 170$ Sapphire X1600Pro 512MB, I think that my choice is made.

Newegg is out of stock on the card I got now but they had it for $140. I would look around before I laid down $170 for one

$170 CAD /w only GST.

NewEgg ain't shipping here. I see other places have this card for $300. (But I found a local place at 175$ CAD, but they say "Lite" in the name.

Dunno about "Lite", except that a lot of Sapphire products on the Internet are sold with "Lite Retail" next to them.

I would take "Lite Retail" to mean "Doesn't come with #$%@ for software, hardware and drivers only".

In fact, when I look on their site, there's nothing about "Lite", but there are absolutely no games coming with it. Just PowerDVD and an other program.

Maybe I'd go with an other card instead. The computer is going to be changed probably in less than 6 months and new comps don't have AGP slots.
