Actually worked with a company that used the regular Vista backup program to backup computers to a NAS. Worked fine with small systems, but some of the larger ones failed to complete pretty frequently. Was quite annoying to get working right, since it took forever to complete the process on slower comps. Should work better with your external drive and hopefully they made some improvements to it on Windows 7.
WEll that sounds fairly promising if a company used it lol. Plus i think if im gonna partition the drive out to about 5 different oartitions it should never have to back up too much at once and even if it does have to im planning on it being a nice and fast computer lol . Probably just limited by the fact that the external drive is only USB2 so will be nice and slow lol. _________________ Coolermaster HAF 932 II Coolermaster Real Power M1000 II Gigabyte EX58-UD5 II i7 920 @ 3.2Ghz II Corsair H100 CPU Cooler II 24gb Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz II 2x MSI GTX 460 Hawk Talon Attack SLI II Corsair F240 SSD II 2x3Tb Seagate (RAID0) II 1Tb Seagate 7200.12 II 1.5Tb Seagate 7200.11 II Pinoneer BluRay Writer
Which Seagates had the huge failure rate and then the firmware by Seagate which bricked a whole bunched of 500gb drives? was that the 11 or 12 series?
To the OP, i'd seriously look into this. And a word of advice, don't have ANYTHING on the raid 0 partition you can't afford to lose. I'm super cereal about it.

Lol it was the 11 series, i made sure i looked into it with looking into running 2 of them raid0 lol. And the setup will have all my stuff on the RAID0 drives but it will be backed up each week i think .
Still thinking about it though _________________ Coolermaster HAF 932 II Coolermaster Real Power M1000 II Gigabyte EX58-UD5 II i7 920 @ 3.2Ghz II Corsair H100 CPU Cooler II 24gb Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz II 2x MSI GTX 460 Hawk Talon Attack SLI II Corsair F240 SSD II 2x3Tb Seagate (RAID0) II 1Tb Seagate 7200.12 II 1.5Tb Seagate 7200.11 II Pinoneer BluRay Writer
