That depends, what OS are you intending on running? And are you intending to do software RAID using the OS or hardware RAID using provisions on your motherboard and/or an external PCI card?

If i was to have 2 500gb seagate 7200.12 running in RAID0 setup using a mobo RAID controller and have it set upto back up each week to 1tb external drive using windows 7 auto backup suite, would that work very well or not??
Plus id probably partition the RAID0 setup for OS, programs, documents, tv, page file.
Any problems that i might have with that??
(the external drive is a 1tb WD Elements drive)

It shouldn't have too much problems (never know with Windows Wink). The OS will see the two Raid0 drives as one logical drive so it'll work like any regular drive to drive transfer.
