Make a dual boot and see how that works for you.

I have never actually run a dual boot system. Are there any issues with that kind of setup?

Well, you'll have to make partitions as far as I know. Some programs might not work between the two OS. Besides that, not sure there are any more.

Made three attempts to DL already. All failed under Firefox. I'll retry again today.

I guess more people are getting RC than when the Beta was released.

I'll try dual-booting this weekend.

@ x.clay -- just make sure to backup your data first before setting up your rig to dual-boot. Its quite easy, actually...

If you have more than one HD, don't even need to make separate partitions. As long as you are installing a later version of Windows than what you are currently booting with, it'll recognize it and setup the dual boot automatically. Gettin a third HD ready for a triple boot soon (XP, Vista, and Windows 7)

I love win7...much better than the Beta. No more issues with processes hanging, programs crashing and all my stuff still works except a custom mmc we use.

I guess my question is...can I try out 7 RC1? I'm just running XP. Never tried Vista. I thought I heard somewhere that you had to be running vista to install RC1.

If you want to upgrade then yeah MS wants you to to have Vista installed first. You can boot from the DVD and do a clean install, or extract the contents of the disc to your hard drive, edit one file and upgrade will work. I would suggest a clean install though.
