I was thinking of using Windows 7 on some reviews... Maybe exclusively in some, as in no Vista or XP tests which people might have gotten used to. Same benchmarks, just a different OS.

Do you think that is a good idea or a bad idea?

Sure, it's the future's OS.

Would be a good addition, but I wouldn't use it exclusively for reviews. Never know how the RC will differ from the retail version performance wise.

I strongly recommend you do it, Jason! Win7 will definitely make loyal XP users like me jump to a new OS.

I'm currently downloading the RC version. This will allow me to legally use Win7 RC for one whole year so this will be my primary OS.

Which is a good reason to use it on reviews... I can't keep enough licenses for Vista on hand, but being able to use RC1 makes things a bit easier.

But, don't count on the full year... It may be good until next June, but starting next March your system will reboot every two hours to annoy you in to buying a license... Laughing

You're right. By March 2010 it will start rebooting. Like the Win7 Beta I'm using on my office laptop right now, this will start rebooting by July 1 of this year. So I'll be installing RC soon.

I see more and more sites posting Win 7 reviews, especially with the RC release Smile

Maybe if your set-up will allow it, do tests in both XP and Win7RC1 to see if there is a difference. Don't have to show the difference, could just state that similar results in XP, unless they are different, then it would be good to note...

Yea, I know, more work to do LOL

I'm downloading it now to do a fresh install on my core i7 rig after my 1 TB Seagate 7200.11 decided to start acting up.

I have been kicking around the idea of upgrading from Vista 64 to Windows 7 but haven't decided if it is worth it.
