there's still not a ton of stuff that takes advantage of DX10/10.1
You can be sure the DX11 cards will come with a hefty price tag, so if it were me, I'd grab one when you needed it.
I have a 4870 and the wife has an 8800GT and they both run pretty much everything we throw at 'em with all the eye candy on...and they're both fairly inexpensive _________________
