Right now I have an Nvidia GeForce 9300 GE in my computer, and as you can guess its really not that great of a card. What im looking for in an upgrade is a video card that is able to play 1920x1200, play in 1080p(I have an HD monitor), and get high FPS in Wow.

Right now everything is on high exept for shadows and I get about 20 FPS. Shadows at high decreas it to about 8-10 fps depending on where I am.

Also addons do end up slowing down the FPS a little. I have a 300w power source and so that would need to be upgraded as well. I will end up buying this card sometime this summer, im expecting my budget to be around $100-$300 by then. But don't worry about the budget too much just suggest cards and the prices. (Don't forget the power source I would also need to buy, post that too with price).

With the GeForce 260, I can run it on High and get upwards of 60-70FPS on my 1080P 28" screen at max res (can't think what it is right now). If I set it to the new "Ultra" settings, I drop down to mid 30-40's FPS.

Can't wait to get the 275, see if that improves Smile

Of course in Dalaran though it drops down to around 25fps on High and Ultra LOL Kinda to be expected though Grin

whats the rest of your system? WOW is a CPU/RAM dependent game for the most part. I remember when I went from 512mb of DDR to 1.5G of DDR on my old system it made a world of difference.

The HD4770 looks promising and should be priced at around $100.

I agree, the 4770 is supposed to be faster then the 9800GT and with a cost of around $100. This could be a great option for you.

I'd opt for the 4830 if you're on a tight budget, and if you have a bit extra cash, you can work your way up the ATi food chain. They provide some pretty good bange for your buck.

in a few days, there should be a new amd cards out which may drop the price of current line ups. I would say 9800/GTX 250 or amd 4830 cards would be a good choice.

one hting ot watch out is your psu, make sure it meets the requirement for your card.

http://www.ninjaforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1224 this is a thread that shows the HD4770 in comparison to the HD4830, 4850, GTS250 and 9800GT. If you can't be bothered to read I'll just tell you the results. It outperformed the HD4830 by 2-8% overall, underperformed the 4850 by around 5%, underperformed the GTS250 by 7% and outperformed a overclocked 9800GT by around 19%.

On your processor, you must mean 2,7Ghz. You should be able to overclock that to 3,0Ghz easily and that should get you a performance upgrade.
