I've got some Christmas presents riding around in a fedex truck ready to be delivered, but no sign of them. It's 1945 (7:45PM) and they still haven't been delivered. Hope they pay their drivers overtime.

Well, now I know why. 2057 (8:57PM) my packages are back at the Fedex sorting facility. Sad No big deal really since they won't be needed for three more weeks, but what's the point of paying for 2nd. day delivery if it takes them 3 days?

In a lot of ways it is, but I live about 4 miles from the third largest Fedex facility in the world, you'd think they would be able to get things delivered on time. Especially since it's been sitting in the warehouse since Tuesday. It just frustrates me because 2 day Fedex is really the only shipping option Newegg has for Alaska so you basically have to pay for it even if they can't keep their end of the bargain. At least these packages don't require a signature so I don't have to hang out waiting for them.

That always annoys me and it has been happening here in Jersey, too. More and more problems or "exceptions" getting things on time. Never anything critical, but if I am expecting something on a certain day and I can track it to within a few miles on a nice clear day, it should get here!

OK, so I think I've just about received everything. After receiving packages nearly everyday for the last week I've got a simple observation.
FEDEX isn't quite as efficient as they could be. case in point, I had 3 items waiting to be delivered via 2day express that were shipped last Thursday and Friday. All three packages have been sitting in the warehouse since Sunday morning, but Monday afternoon they only delivered the one that was shipped Thursday. They delivered the other two today. Now I understand the 2 day shipping method well and everything was delivered as promised, but they could have saved themselves some money by putting all three packages on the truck Monday and delivering them. It would have saved them a trip and as a customer I would have been extremely pleased that they were early. I know they aren't out to please me, but in these types of cases not only would they be building some goodwill with customers, they would be saving themselves an extra trip and a little bit of cash.

Because... if they did such silly things, people might think about NOT paying for "Overnight" service...

Duh.

The Peninsula I live on only has one Fed Ex guy and he is often seen hanging in the bar during normal working hours.

Check this out, the post office in Nikiski AK doesn't deliver mail. Took me a while to figure that one out.

GrinGrinGrin We had a post office box for years before they actually started delivering mail in Sitka, AK where I was born. PO Box 297, still remember the number. Most small towns in AK are like that. That's why I don't live in Alaska any more, I live in Anchorage. Wink Four years of college in California taught me to appreciate stores that don't close at 6pm and are open 7 days a week, as well as being able to drive to another town and have more than 3 choices of restaurants when we want to eat out. I also like the whole idea of having movie theaters with more than one screen, fresh milk.........................the list goes on and on. Small towns are great, but when you best friend is married to the girl you dated in high school, they can be just a little toooooooooo small GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

Hell, they roll up our sidewalks in my town here in PA at 5pm.

Want to spend money on a Sunday? . it'll be either at the grocery store, Dollar Store or convenience store - or drive 20 miles south, east, or west to the nearest Walmart/Kmart/etc.
