Well, I have been looking for a while, and now that my online yard sale was more successful than I anticipated, its time to buy!!

What would you guys recommend for under $200?

I was looking at the Radeon 9600XT's initially, but now I can afford more... What about something like a GeForce FX 5700 Ultra...

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-128-171&catalog=48&depa=1&section=3&referrer=bigbruin - 500 MHz clock, 128 MB of 950 MHz DDRII WOW!!

Any other ideas?

My roommate bought a 5700 and absolutely LOVES it! Also, you can buy my PCI 8MB ATI Rage Pro for $200... Smile

I'd still go for the ATI 9600XT. I was an Nvidiot for years but after getting this 9600 Pro I am sold on ATI. Plus it is my understanding that the Nvidia cards are still having problems implementing Directx 9

I am still leaning toward a 9600XT, since I could save some of the $$, and still have a great card. But, how is ATI's dual display? I really like how well my GeForce4 works on two monitors... I use that alot, and I remember not liking it on my Radeon 7500...

Altho I did'nt use it much due to a lack of physical desk space, I found my ATI 9000 Pro to work very well with duo monitors.

And I'd still go with the Asus 9600XT card!

Nah... no AIW, I have the Leadtek WinFast TV2000Xp Deluxe longest product name ever capture card...

I dunno. I like the specs and price on the 5700 Ultra... and the heatsink looks cool. But, I play my games now on a GeForce2 Ti... Laughing A 9600XT would obviously rock enough!

And now I see that Compgeeks has a MSI FX5900 for $199...

Go for a Radeon. How about a Radeon 9800 non-Pro 128MB overclocked past Pro?

Sounds like his mind is made up on the Nvidia.

This will be just like the XP CPU he bought... everyone told him "XP 2500 Barton OC's like a champ, best deal.." And what did he do?? Bought a XP2800...

Laughing

AVOID COMPUGEEKS LIKE SARS!!!!

It's a long story, but I still have a hold of a DVD drive I bought from them that came DOA.

I had to go through this long email BS about troubleshooting that I did, TWICE, and still no RMA number, My last email, ended with forgetaboutit, I will just not do business with you folks and pass the word along.

I explained all the different things that I did and systems I used it in, still not good enough for them. I was starting to think they were going to send someone out to the house to "help out".

It's a friggin 16.00 drive, SEND ME ANOTHER NOW!!!
