I've heard that a modder has fixed the broken Creative drivers for vista. So, what's the problem ? Hasn't it been fixed ?

It's funny, but I think MS did this same thing when XP was released. Lots of problems, hassles, drivers, etc, and then a service pack or 2 later and it's OK. I guess Ballmer is too greedy and wants to see his stock rise instead of learning from the past mistakes of MS and avoiding them.

Keep going back, back, back each windows version (really all software, but O/S's are especially complex) has been less then perfect as shipped. multiple hotfixes and service packs general polish the system and result in a fairly good product 1-3 years after initial release, about the time the push/hype/rumors begin about the next version being "even better than sliced bread" Rolling Eyes and the process starts again >private beta>public beta> RC1...2...3> and so on.

I have Vista 32 Ultimate installed, because Vista 64 is not as compatible. I plan on sticking it out and installing Vista 64 in the future since I have 4GB, but the OS only uses 3GB. Vista 32 now sees all 4GB with SP1, but it is just for show and is not being used.
