People like EC are the reason companies like the idea or MIRs.

I think some people would go for 2GB of DDR2 800MHz for $21 after a rebate. Even the full price of $48 isn't bad... Bang Head

No they don't... because I won't buy things that have MIR's on them. SPECIALLY when the company selling you the product is the one doing the rebate.

No the full price isn't bad, and IF you get your money back from the MIR than it's really a good deal... of course then you have to spend all that time cutting out stuff, filling out the paperwork, putting it in an envelope and putting a stamp on it, then waiting 2 - 3 months to get back the money.

And just look at those rebates... the $20 one from OCZ has so many restrictions on it that it is OBVIOUS they are trying NOT to pay it:
"Rebate request must be post marked within twenty (20) days (including weekends) of the purchase date. Rebates postmarked after twenty (20) days of purchase will be denied.**Submitting the incorrect rebate form may result in the denial of your rebate. ***Submissions sent without the original OCZ UPC Barcode may be denied"

Then you have the $5 MIR from ClubIT directly... That's 100% BS!! Just put it on sell and knock $5.00 of the price don't make your customers jump through hoops for a measly 5 bucks.

I'm with Cheezy.. screw MIR's..

I've never ever received a rebate check yet in the last 10 years. Not one.. I cant begin to count the number I've sent out though.

phuckit!! If they can afford to rebate money, then the product was overpriced to begin with.

one time I got denied for a rebate, they said it wasn't postmarked within 30 days. (it was)

I told buy.com customer service, and they gave me a $40 credit to my CC! They didn't even ask for my copy of the rebate for proof. Not store credit, but $40 to my credit card!

TigerDirect seems to be the toughest place to get rebates back. Buy.com is the best. I don't think they had a rebate that I didn't receive.

I used to hate rebates because they were generally a waste of a stamp. But then there was that lawsuit a few years ago, where I think it was Tiger Direct that got hammered hard and all of a sudden rebates were more reliable across the board.

I still don't care for them, but if prices are close on something I plan to buy, I'll go for it. They never convince me to buy something I didn't plan on buying anyway.

Recently I got a WiFi antenna for free from mWave, a nice Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse/speakerphone for $25 from Buy.com, and I have that HD2600 Pro pending from Newegg at $65.
