"In August, the Columbia Accident Investigation Board at NASA released Volume 1 of its report on why the space shuttle crashed. As expected, the ship's foam insulation was the main cause of the disaster. But the board also fingered another unusual culprit: PowerPoint, Microsoft's well-known ''slideware'' program." - nytimes.com

It must be true! The government said so,I saw it in the times.
Apparently the Columbia Accident Investigation Board sat thought allot of PowerPoint presentations to reach that conclusion.
I'm not saying it didn't happen that way, but they shouldn't blame the tool for the presenters failure to make clear that it was a synopsis, of a written report, nor the "senior managers" failure to read and understand the information backing up the slides.
It does point out the NASA culture is in unbelievably bad shape when the "responsible manager" considers a slide show a complete analysis of a potential problem. All to similar to the Mars mission that crashed due to simple miles to kilometer convesion error. (these engineers need to go the MS Office for Beginners classes) Or maybe a"it's your JOB to pay attention stupid!" seminars, but they'd probably sleep through those too.
by the same logic
People were way smarter before the use of the wheel, Egyptians, Aztec's and easter islander's all managed to quarry and erect huge stone structures and statues purely by man power, in some way that we can't figure out today. so we should condemn the use of all wheeled vehicles. |

LOL this is too funny. It's just a plain excuse because they don't want to take responsibility for the mistake of letting the shuttle go even with the problem they found. Haha. _________________

Actually, global warming is definatly MS's fault. Windows is more CPU intensive then it has to be, so it causes the CPU to warm up more, causing more heat then needed, but that's not all, it also causes it to suck up more power, so it makes the power companies force power plants to work more, so they sometimes have to add more turbines when a new windows OS comes out.
Also, people who run MS servers are constantly in the server room rebooting the computer, so the surge caused by the reboot is also a bad thing for power plants and makes them work more for that period of time.
