Try this one (from my work):
State, local airport, type of machine function, numeral, company division, company name.

So, for instance, we're located in Colorado near the Centennial/Arapahoe airport as a part of the foo company unit, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bar Co. As such, the servers are named coapas00foobar, coapas01foobar, etc. and virtual machines are coapav00foobar, ad nauseam. I have to use the active directory notes to keep everything straight. :/

At home, I use the Jetsons with my PC being Astro, the server is Spacely, the shared printer off the server is Sprocket, the laptop is Orbity. Grin Works great. Not as many characters in the Jetsons as in the Simpsons, but the Jetsons have more class.

I heard that MIT used to use types of pasta and at my old work, where I was the architect of all internet related machines, I used colors because they had been using 14k+ mountain names (only the mountains over 14k feet were used). That was fine til you got to the mountain Uncompahgre. I hated spelling that one 20 times a day and it was very used so I renamed it to blue. Grin Another reason for the rename was that the place I had worked just prior had also used mountains. I suppose in Colorado, using the names of the mountains is a very popular thing.

Anyways, if you're going for a professional environment, I would suggest avoiding the use of alcohol names as they will project an image that you and the IT group and a bunch of drunks and even if it's true, you don't want to give them the ammo. The best advice I can give is to make the names easy to spell with few letters. This is why I went with colors for the last environment that I designed. Not many people can spell Uncompahgre correctly when you tell them to go to a file share on it, but everyone will get blue right the first time, and the same can be said for red, yellow, green, orange and many other colors. It's not til you start getting to the weird colors like teal, mauve and sienna that you would run in to problems. Luckily, a color chart can be easily found for inspiration.

Good luck!

but the president likes Sam Adams...and in the past, there used to be beer in the fridges and after work was done co workers would grab a few. (just no operating the machinery after drinking)

I was thinking Tranformers...how cool would it be to tell someone to map a drive on OptimusPrime? Or maybe linux servers can be Autobots and windows servers can be Decepticons ;-)
