Another OC request

Hello there,

As many before I am looking for help boosting performance of my system. Here are the specs:

Processor: Intel Q6600
Mobo: ASUS P5K Deluxe Wifi-AP Socket 775 1333MHz PC2-8500
Graphics: EVGA 640-P2-N821-AR GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB
Memory: Corsair TWIN2X1024-8500 1GB Kit DDR2-1066 XMS2-8500
HD: Hitachi Deskstar T7K500 500GB 7200RPM Serial ATA
HFS: Zalman CNPS 7700
PSU: Antec PS 450W.

My system is up and running without any tweaking yet. Will appreciate your step by step advice overclocking it.

Depending on how much you want to put into overclocking, you could start by simply adjusting the FSB on the motherboard.

Don't start out at 333MHz and jump to 375MHz. Do it in small increments. Too large of a single jump could cause it to have issues even if it wouldn't have with small jumps. Plus if you go TOO large of a jump you could put too much stress on it, and do damage.

When you get to a point, where either it won't boot or becomes unstable (I use 3dMark06 as a quickie stability test), back the FSB down a few notches.

Using CPU-Z I found out that I have G0 release of the Q6600.
I bought it in the beginning of Aug. form www.zipzoomfly.com.
Would you have any particular advice how to overclock it?
