In order to make it start, well first I dismantled (broke) the power switch, and have to hot wire it, I have to unplug the main and auxiliary to the mobo, unplug the main to psu (in other order), let it sit for a while, then I can plug everything back in and it starts right up. What could be causing this?

On ATX type formats, the power switch is a momentary switch. It isn't an on/off switch.

When you push a power button on an ATX format PC, it completes the circuit for a moment until you let your finger off the switch. You dont want for contact all the time.

Nope, it's not connected all the time. I just have the two wires that I touch together to start 'er up. Aside from that, what is the underlying problem??
thanks

The only other times I've seen that it was due to the powersupply. My Enermax's do it sometimes, not all the time though. ...then it wont do it at all for a while.

I'll see what I can find on it...

Sounds like something is "discharging" and then allowing you to start.

My first guess would be something is up with the power supply..

If not that, then you might want to remove the motherboard and reinstall it.. Sometimes the mother board is not grounded properly, or the studs in which it screws to are shorting out something.. doesn;t hurt to remove and reinstall mobo.

Other than that... i really dont know. g'luck
