I recently bought a 512 mb stick of ram to add to the 256 that i already had, but after i put it in the computer would not start saying that it had too much ram. The max size on this computer is 512 and i was wondering if there is a way to change that to make it higher so that i could use both sticks of ram

Check for a bios update....otherwise, I doubt any other way to change that. At least none that I know of.

Generally, the RAM limit is based on the northbridge physically, so BIOS updates will probably not render any results.

And most likely if the max is 512MB, then you have to use 2 x 256MB.

dude, he gots a Dell!

Dell used to do that with their Dimensions...if you wanted more RAM you had to buy an Optiplex, and spend more $$$

I'd just remove the 256 and keep the 1X 512MB
