Just ran a background check on myself........holy cr@p!!!!!!

I'm getting ready to upgrade my license to "Unlimited Ocean Master" not sure if that means anything to anyone here, but anyway, part of the process is a federal background check (happens every renewal, upgrade). Ever since 9/11 things have gotten pretty intense so I figured I'd check myself out before actually signing everything saying I was a "good guy". As expected, I checked out OK, but I was AMAZED at the amount of information I was able to obtain via the internet and for $50. They listed all my previous addresses, my parents and wifes previous addresses as well as names, addresses and phone numbers of previous occupants and neighbors at those addresses.

I don't know how people feel about this, but I find it slightly unsettling.

i personally dont mind being able to find info like that on myself... you did have to buy it to get it which means not everyone has it... once you find an address though its not hard to get other stuff IMO ....
