Did they get bought? And therefore the new company should have the money, or at least the "old" one should.

The cable systems were sold from our parent company, the company remains doing what it started off doing-buying/selling central office switching equipment. The former owners of Adelphia now own our systems under their new company name "Zito Media". They took with them my (4) technicians, and (1) office rep. Our accountant/VP was hired on by John Regas to be an axe man for one of his other companies.

The cable systems were sold for $3.5M, but the company was in the hole $5M. The money from the sale went straight towards the debt.

Right now theres not enuff sales revenue generated to support the company. ...even counting the $45hr I bill for contract stuff and the $52hr my dad bills for his.

I had to send our warehouse guy down to Pittsburgh with a truck load of copper from our recycling dept to get fund to cover our pay checks a couple weeks ago. Good thing copper is selling for over $2.00 a pound...

Yeah... I'm on the home stretch to the the exit gates...

I still wanna punch anyone that says cable companies make a lot of money off of their services. Its the dish companies that rape the customers.. ....they dont have 10% of the fees or costs that CATV has to deal with but they charge just as much, if not more.

If CATV makes so much, how come we weren't rich or could even make our interest payments...?

Cable companies do make money. It's just very VERY hard on the small ones. That's why there is pretty soon only going to be like 2 or 3 companies.

I cant say the dont make money.. we were clearing about $10K for 1400 tv customers (basic to everything) and 480 +/- broadband subs. But that money came in to Treasure Lake Communications, one of our sub companies. The 4 systems we had left of the "DuCom Cable" had about 1500 tv only subs and only cleared about $2K.

Now figure in FCC copyright fees, never ending system repair, and other stuff.. we didn't clear much.

Broadcasters take about 20-50% of the money we got in, then fees, taxes, wages, utilites..
