Aparantly, there is a big drought right now for XFX 7900GT cards on the market...I am unable to locate one at all right now, and what i am reading all over the place is April 30th is the expected ship date for more cards from XFX.
Is there another card manufacturer that would be acceptable to this?

This card is $359.00 at newegg.com and backorderd....bleh
The last 2 vid cards that i have ordered have been xfx cards so i dont really know what other good cards are available. I am definately looking for something with this type of clockspeed and preferably the same price... |

Too bad Canadian retailers still have 7900GTs and GTXs; NCIX for instance has them still _________________ all your base are belong to us |

Other than the 90 day upgrade program from eVGA, how is their customer service and support? how is the quality of their craftsmanship also? Im just concerned that im about to drop 350 bucks and i want to make sure its worth it.
The xfx cards are out of stock everywhere including ncix.com, but the eVGA cards are available.....if eVGA is going to be quality, i found the replacement...

Not really for price to performance....unless you go ATI, but then I can't advise you there, I'm not familiar enough with ATI cards.
The 7900GT is a little more powerful than the 7800GTX (so I'm told anyways). Yet, the 7800GT is about $100 more than the 7900GT...
The short supply is why I mentioned the eVGA step-up program. Get a 7800GT right now for ~$300, then once you get it, within 90 days, contact eVGA and do the step-up to a 7900GT and pay the difference in retail price. I bought a 7800GT in January for $300. Stepping up to a 7900GT now for an addition $50 + shipping. Got 2.5 months out of the 7800GT already |

Managed to get lucky tonight!! hey get your head out of the gutter !!
nah, i doublechecked on newegg tonight and i found the one step down from the one that i wanted. its the 7900 GT UDE7 at 520 / 1500mhz http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150139
Not bad at all for the time crunch. Since i didnt want it to get all sold out on me, i already went ahead and ordered it to lock it in. do they make any 7900GT heatsink fans yet? I decided to go with the ZALMAN CNPS7000B-Cu LED 2 Ball Blue LED Light Cooling Fan on the processor, and if there is anything for the 7900, i will grab that when i order the rest in the morning. |
