What is the recommended software for shrinking 80 GB of MP3's stored at 320kbps.

It needs to batch, and take them to maybe 128kbps.

Not going to get a whole lot of MP3's on the kids new MP3 player or my PDA with everything at 320kbps.

I think DB PowerAmp will do the job:

http://www.dbpoweramp.com/

And I can't remember if it does this, but my choice for most MP3 related work is CD-DA - http://www.poikosoft.com/

HAHAHAHAHA, tried MP3 resizer, and dbPowerAMP...

I set 134 songs to convert from 320 kbps to 128kbps and its going to take 48 minutes...

I have 11,830 to do....

DO the math!!!

Is there anything out there that will do this in my life time???

So your telling me my 2400 MHz OC, 2 gig of ram and SATA isn't fast enough?

I don't think the second processor is going to help with these rudimentary resizing programs.

Just an update to finish the thread.

I did a full Scandisk and Defragment on the source disk and that helped the speed alot. Then I did the same to the target disk and things are moving tons faster now.

dbPowerAMP seems to be the winner here. It works very well and doesn't mind huge lists like MP3resizer does.

MP3resizer seems to choke on a list of just 1000 files.

Did a chunk of 250 MP3's and it took 1 hour 20 minutes. I know that doesn't seem all that much faster, but at least I can still use the machine, everything was choking before.
