I've read that the E6 stepping has a better memory controller, so I was initially just going to go with that. Then I noticed the clawhammer core, and decided to look up some info on that. A couple pages led me to believe that the clawhammer core will lead to better OCs and more Stability.
What do you guys think?
Perhaps there is a similar priced processor I should be considering instead of this even? I'm a gamer, if it helps the decesion process at all.

I think E6 are the better overclocking versions... I remember a rush of people trying to get them and some stores were listing the steppings to help out all the enthusiasts.

The 1xx series Opertons (in the Venus flavor) supports the same thing the Venice cores. However it's about $30 more expensive. And I'm not sure exactly what you're paying that $30 for.
