i will never buy a hp laptop again after the last one i had ! it don't matter what brand cpu they install in them .
there replacement parts are very costly (battery ,cd drives ) and the way they design the power connector internal is very bad in design . if the plug is pushed the wrong way it will fry the motherboard . im talking a light tap say your using the unit and have the power plug in the unit and it taps a hard surface the right way .it can and may burn a hole in the motherboard fronm a grounding short repair tech told me he had seen lots of them with my same problem and it was very common on hp note books .

Gateway bought emachines but even that with Hack's recommendation does not have me in a rush to go by any emachine. I have worked on more than a few of the older ones and they were built extremely on the cheap side. |

They've improved a lot over the last few years apparently. |
