info as of time of this posting ! (more info here )

LONDON (AP) - Explosions struck three London Underground stations and a bus at midday Thursday in a chilling but less deadly replay of the suicide bombings that killed 56 people two weeks ago.

Only one person was reported wounded, but the lunch-hour explosions caused major shock and disruption in the capital and were hauntingly similar to the July 7 bombings by four attackers.

The London police commissioner confirmed Thursday that four explosions took place in what he described as "a very serious incident."

"We've had four explosions - four attempts at explosions," Metropolitan Police Commissioner Ian Blair said outside police headquarters at Scotland Yard.

Last I heard it was a copycat situation. More than likely not Islamic fundamentalists etc...

Whats even worse are the bomb threats to the mosques and stuff. Retaliation isn't going to get anyone anywhere.

I dont agree with bomb threats on Mosques but I do believe in retaliation. I mean if someone walks up and punchs you in the face what do you do? Punch them back or do nothing and just take it?

What I'm saying is blowing up a mosque isn't the answer. Striking at innocents isn't the answer. Sure, it's what they are doing, but surely there is a better way to get a point across than killing innocent people (granted, it seems to be what the militant Islamics are good at)

Agreed but who is blowing up Mosques? Only time I have heard of this is in Iraq when they are firing at our troops from the Masque. Terrorists are the ones that target innocent people, not the US or British Govt.

Unlike the dill hole here in Colorado, I completely agree that attacking innocent civilians just for the purposes of retaliation does nothing but drop us down to their level.

However, a well planned retaliation attack agasint the dirt bags is not only a wonderful idea, but just plain right.

Situation update:

The detonators in the bombs went off, but the bombs themselves didn't actually go - a very good thing, as these were nail bombs. The person who was injured was a want-to-be suicide bomber, now under police custody.

Two men were chased by police and grabbed after one of the tube bombings. Another man was chased and shot five times in a tube station by the police. There was another raid on a shop in Maida Vale - i actually saw this happen, i was getting lunch at the time. heard a bang, then loads of armed police (for those who don't know, police in britain do not as a routine carry guns at all) apperaed friom nowhere, a few more people arrested.

Little bit shaken, but otherwise OK.
