So I'm building a new PC, blah blah. Here's the specs and prices. Can someone out there tell me if the stuff I've specced out will A) work and b) seem correct. This is the first time I've built an AMD system and don't want to screw it up. All prices are from www.pricewatch.com
Motherboard DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 SLI-DR $178.00 http://www.dfi.com.tw/Product/xx_product_spec_details_r_us.jsp?PRODUCT_ID=3449&CATEGORY_TYPE=LP&SITE=US

The DFI board uses DDR memory, what you have listed is DDR2, it won't work together. _________________ Nothing says good job like a firm open palmed slap on the behind.
# Four 184-pin DDR SDRAM DIMM sockets
# Supports dual channel (128-bit wide) memory interface
# Supports up to 4GB system memory
# Supports DDR266, DDR333 and DDR400 DDR SDRAM DIMM
...the second line there indicates DDR2 Compatibility? Aside from cost, if I have the opportunity to use DDR2, and I want the performance, then I want to take advantage of it. Did I misunderstand the specs on the board?

Yes, it doesn't support DDR2. Dual Channel just treats two DDR sticks as one... sorta. It in theory doubles the bandwidth. But AMD does not currently use DDR2, it's Dual Channel DDR1. DDR2 is 240 pin, DDR1 is 184 pin.

Dual Channel DDR isn't DDR2... It just means it reads/writes to a matched pair of DDR in a sequential fashion that optimizes throughput... Like RAID 0 for your memory.
