What is the general opinion of this Samsung...

Has good numbers and a fair price.

Any better suggestions/prices?

I have about $450.00 to spend.

If your not in a hurry... I have been keeping a close eye on this: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04&sku=320-4113

The review seems to really like it. And if you watch, you can get it for around $300... pay attention to SlickDeals.

The Dell does get a good nod of approval from that review!!!

I'm liking the 800:1 contrast although the Samsung has it beat in everything else...

Samsung 300 cd/m2 Dell 250 cd/m2
Samsung 8ms Dell 20ms

And a viewing angle of 160 degrees V and H where as the Dell is only 85 degrees V and H.

I'm not really sure how much all of this will affect me, but I am really concerned with ghosting. I want to make sure I get as fast as I can afford. I even find myself waiting for the newest 4 ms 19" monitors coming very soon!!!

I have been reading tons on thes monitors and others and find a small confusion.

When it comes to viewing angle is 160 degrees better than 85 degrees?

I figured the higher number would mean you can get more off of center and still see, now I am second guessing that...

Anyone?
