Yea your right, the bigger the angle the better you can see from an angle.

And, confusion is the reason I haven't bought yet. I just decided I would wait a while for the spec's to get a bit better (higher contrast, briter, and faster) and the price to drop a tad (they aren't bad now for a 19" though).

I've also been thinking about this one: http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11008820&whse=BC&topnav=&cat=4181&hierPath=84*4181*
Pretty good over all spec's and good price.

I have been reading tons on thes monitors and others and find a small confusion.

When it comes to viewing angle is 160 degrees better than 85 degrees?

I figured the higher number would mean you can get more off of center and still see, now I am second guessing that...

Anyone?

woah... started reading this, but it's a tad confusing... maybe you'll make some sense out of it:

EDIT: ok... so the bigger the angle the better, but they may be using some fubared standards... 85 should be enough, unless you are making somebody else see the screen.

I'm also following the Dells... still waiting for the price to drop a bit with codes and discounts... tip: sign up to their catalog... there's always a "Big Bucks" code on the backcover (last one I got was $35)

CompUSSR has 8000 in rebates on the Samsung ending today.

I think I am going to go pick one up and check it out. I can return it, but don't think I will need to from what I have been reading.

I'm using the Samsung SyncMaster 915N, the 8ms 19". Yes it's a good monitor, am I highly entushiastic about the monitor.... nope. Does great in games, but over all useage it's not anything special or worth paying for the 8ms response time.

The Samsung is all hooked up...

I don't have to squint to read all the red stuff on grey background at BB anymore!!!

I can't believe I waited this long to move to LCD tech!!!

Flawless, and Half Life is a whole new game with this kind of brightness.

Hey how are you liking that monitor? Office Depot has MIR's on the 17' & the 19" ones... I'm thinking about investing.
