So... I heard about this thing being able to incread php processing by like 40%, and I installed version 2.5.7...

Now I don't know what to do with it? Do I need to use software optimized to take advantage of it? Can I tweak anything? Do I just leave it alone? Did I waste my time? Laughing

Where is the PHP Guru?

That only works if the files are 'encoded' by Zend Encoder.

Basically, ZE precompiles the PHP files into something, but I know it's not true binary. Anyway, it's a good way for software creators to keep their source code secure, or for people like me to keep their servers fast.

Thing is, you gotta purchase Zend Encoder...

I'll do the math here for you...

"That only works if the files are 'encoded' by Zend Encoder." + "or for people like me to keep their servers fast" = Ice can do it. Grin

HA! I wish I had a hack for that.

No, I just 'recommend' it to my managment (they have no idea what the hell I'm talking about), and they make the purchase. I only meant "Programmers like me".

There are other accelerators though:
http://www.php-accelerator.co.uk/
http://pecl.php.net/package/APC
http://turck-mmcache.sourceforge.net/index_old.html (hasn't been update for a long time, but still good)
