Anyone have one yet? I saw a deal on one this week, and it was the first I even knew of them. It was a Maxtor, 16MB cache, AND a 3 year warranty. The drive was a steal, too... like a 200GB for $112.

I like the sound of all of that!! Grin

16MEG cache? Damn I still only have 2 meg cache drives. I gotta get with it here man.Sad

whats the difference between 8 and 16 and whats chace size?? how much of a permorance difference does it make?

its a buffer. the harddrive is a mechanical device that reads and writes at a much slower pace than what the computer can. The cache on the harddrive stores up the data that the drive just cant handle.. the more it can store, the sooner the computer can release the device to start performing other tasks.
