Anyone have one yet? I saw a deal on one this week, and it was the first I even knew of them. It was a Maxtor, 16MB cache, AND a 3 year warranty. The drive was a steal, too... like a 200GB for $112.

its a buffer. the harddrive is a mechanical device that reads and writes at a much slower pace than what the computer can. The cache on the harddrive stores up the data that the drive just cant handle.. the more it can store, the sooner the computer can release the device to start performing other tasks.
