Where does Firefox store bookmarks. I want to be able to back mine up and possible import them into IE as well. Just so they will show in my Favorites menu .

I've wondered the same thing. I couldn't figure it out either. But i know its NOT in the Firefox directory. So maybe somewhere in documents and settings.

In your home directory. Search for bookmarks.html.

I did that and find two files. Neither of which are a list of my book marks but seem to be links to a web page with info about book marks. Unfortunately there is no info on those pages telling me where the list I am looking for is. Any other ideas?

Thanks for the help so far but I still have not found what I am looking for and now this has become more of a challenge than something I just want to know. OK I took a screen shot of my Windows Explore screen. When I click on the file "Bookmarks" indicated by the red arrow

Double clicking on that file opens a page with info about bookmarks but no list of my current bookmarks so I can back them up or export them to another browser. Any more ideas guys?

Try the phoenix dir.

The normal place for it to be seems to work ok for me, notice the path in the address bar.

You suck at the interweb? Laughing

That's odd because that file should be the *only* thing with your bookmarks in it. Go to the Firefox Extensions page and get the automatic bookmark backup extension.

See if the backups it makes have the proper links in them.
