is there a program that i could use to put my .avi/.mpeg movies together and the burn them onto a dvd while having dvd quality sound/video? Willing to spend no more than $40.

Also my friend would like to know if there are any programs out there that can burn a copy of a DVD(like from DVD+R to DVD+R)? I told him 'probably no' and that its illegal, but though id get definate answer.

Thanks ya'll,
bruce

For DVD copying go get DVDShrink, works great and it's FREE!! I use it all the time to b back up the movies we get the kids so they don't screw up the original.

For unencrypted movies (like my home movies I burn myself) I copy with Nero Ultra 6.

I still have my copy of DVDXCopy for my backups, and I use a program that came with my burner called Sonic MyDVD for my home movies. I still work with the whole dual disc for dual-layer type ordeal when I make my backups but I don't mind the hassle since discs magically get scratched in my household frequently.

if you make a copy with dvdxcopy it removes the encryption, so you can simply use something normal to copy the DVD. In my case I use Nero to make a copy of a copy (though usually I don't)
